Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Scientist to join Bristol Myers Squibb Biologics Development group in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
The Scientist in Global Upstream and Cell Line Development department will be working with R&D, molecular biology, cell line development, upstream and downstream process development, and process development analytics and analytical development.
Specifically,therolewill involve planning, managing and execution of MBA activities, and to ensure timely analytics in support of multiple biological programs.
They should have a demonstrated ability to assess and implement new technologies, and good communication skills.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting health authority regulatory filings with authoring of technical reports.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Take a scientific leadership position and work productively in a fast paced results oriented interdisciplinary team environment.
Collaborate with internal and external technology groups including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics to help design multi-omics studies.
Use statistical methods and programming such as R to guide the design and analysis of omics experiments.
In depth understanding of statistical aspects as applied to omics data sets so as to properly curate them in preparation for analysis.
Familiarity with Pathway analysis to integrate genomic, proteomic, metabolomic data sets.
Assessment and implementation of novel molecular technologies to improve current platform processes for cell line characterization.
Identify and develop new technologies and processes for constructing and enhancing cell line performance of cell lines destined for biological manufacturing.
Understand and modulate cellular transcription, translation, and post translational pathways and associated regulation to engineer cell lines.
Set up and maintain collaborative interactions with Research and Development, Molecular Analytics, Process Development and where appropriate with manufacturing groups.
Maintain state of the art knowledge, present at meetings and publish their results and author technical documents.
Writing technical summary and development reports for efficient knowledge management and regulatory filing support.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Cell Biology or relevant field.
Recent graduate preferably with 2 years of industrial experience or equivalent.
A strong background in common bioinformatics data analysis tools and interest in building up domain knowledge in the systems and synthetic biology applications in bioprocessing.
Well versed with DOE and statistical analysis such as R.
Solid background in molecular biology or molecular virology techniques including genetic manipulation, transcription and/or translation regulation, cell biology, as well as phenotypic and metabolic analysis of cell lines.
Strong experimentalist that can lead independent research, with extensive cell molecular biology and tissue culture experience.
Preferably, a background in next generation sequencing techniques especially in the areas of RNAseq, and data integration for pathway analysis.
Strong project leadership and excellent resource management skills.
Effective oral and written communication capabilities.
